Job Overview:
The Consortium coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading and enhancing the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems for the FCDO-funded Gender-Based Violence (GBV) consortium. This position is crucial for ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, and evidence generation that will ultimately improve program performance. The Coordinator will focus on results monitoring, accountability, learning, and evaluation, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and DRC’s internal MEAL standards. The role involves providing technical support, capacity building, and coordination across consortium members, including downstream partners, to foster adaptive learning and evidence-based decision-making. The Coordinator will serve as the primary focal point for monitoring, evaluation, and information management/reporting, both internally and externally, ensuring that all MEAL activities align with the strategic objectives of the consortium and the expectations of the donors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Consortium MEAL Coordinator include leading and supporting the integration of MEAL throughout the Project Cycle Management (PCM), ensuring adherence to DRC’s MEAL guidelines and FCDO donor requirements. The Coordinator will coordinate with consortium partners to develop robust indicators and logical frameworks for the consortium project, oversee the quality and effectiveness of needs assessments, and act as the focal point for external evaluations and surveys. Responsibilities also include organizing field data collection, developing MEAL plans and tracking tools, and ensuring timely updates of Monitoring & Evaluation plans. The Coordinator will participate in project meetings, oversee data collection methodologies, and ensure ethical principles are upheld in all data activities. Additionally, the Coordinator will build capacity among consortium partners, coordinate accountability systems, and facilitate learning events to disseminate key lessons learned. The role also involves liaising with external evaluators and ensuring that MEAL findings inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, Public Administration, or other relevant fields. Additional certifications in MEAL, Data Analysis, Information Management, or Accountability are considered advantageous. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in MEAL roles, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts. Strong technical expertise in MEAL frameworks, data collection methodologies, and accountability mechanisms is essential, along with proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, and KOBO Toolbox. Experience with MEAL planning and donor reporting for FCDO, as well as working with external entities, is also required. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in community feedback mechanisms and CHS accountability standards.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, or Public Administration. Additional certifications in MEAL, Data Analysis, Information Management, or Accountability are beneficial and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in MEAL roles, ideally within humanitarian or development contexts. Candidates should have a strong technical background in MEAL frameworks, data collection methodologies, and accountability mechanisms, particularly in GBV or protection programming. Experience in leading organizational capacity assessments and providing technical guidance to MEAL staff is also advantageous.

Languages:
Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Fluency in Arabic is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with local partners and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a one-year contract with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and performance evaluations. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for International staff, and the position is graded at Band NM.G. The start date for this role is set for October 2026, and the duty station will be Port Sudan.
