Job Overview:
The position of Technical Support for WAAW 2026 Communications and Media Content Development is designed to provide essential support for the World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) campaign in Mongolia. The volunteer will be responsible for ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of communications and multimedia production related to the campaign. This role involves collaborating closely with the WHO Mongolia AMR and Communications teams to develop a comprehensive production plan, content calendar, and timeline that aligns with the campaign's key messages. The volunteer will also engage in the production of multimedia content, including videos and visual materials, to effectively communicate the campaign's objectives and engage various stakeholders, including health institutions and the community. The overarching goal is to raise awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and encourage practical actions to combat this global health threat.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess relevant communications and multimedia production skills, with a strong understanding of public health communication strategies. They should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, particularly in emergency situations. The candidate should also have a creative mindset to develop engaging content that resonates with various audiences.
Educational Background:
A degree in communications, media studies, public health, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in multimedia production or public health communication will be preferred. A strong academic background that demonstrates knowledge of health communication principles and practices is essential for this role.
Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in communications, media production, or public health campaigns. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable. Familiarity with antimicrobial resistance issues and public health advocacy will be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing high-quality multimedia content and managing communication projects effectively.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications will be conducted in English. Proficiency in Mongolian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate engagement with local stakeholders and communities. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region may be considered an advantage.
Additional Notes:
This position is a volunteer role under the UN Community Volunteers program, and candidates are expected to be recruited locally. The role may require travel for specific events, and travel and daily meal expenses will be covered by the host entity. Upon successful completion of the assignment, volunteers will receive a UNV Certificate of Service. The position is expected to be full-time, and the duration of the contract will be specified upon selection.

- Develop and implement a practical production plan, content calendar, and timeline for the WAAW 2026 communications and media package, ensuring alignment with approved campaign key messages and the 'Stewards for the Future' campaign.
- Produce a Stewards for the Future interview video featuring 4-5 selected stewards from diverse backgrounds, including planning, filming, and editing.
- Create a high-level WAAW media feature involving WHO representatives and senior national or partner representatives, which may include written Q&As, interviews, or visual features.
- Design and adapt campaign visual materials, including e-banners and promotional visuals for the WAAW 2026 launch.
- Adapt communication products for various media formats, including social media and websites.
- Provide multimedia support for the WAAW 2026/NAP launch and campaign implementation, coordinating with external media vendors.
- Revise and finalize all communication products following WHO review and clearance, ensuring all materials are dissemination-ready.
- Perform additional communications and multimedia duties as required by the supervisor.
