Job Overview:
The E T Consultant (Communication and Engagement) position at the World Bank Group is designed for individuals who are passionate about leveraging communication strategies to support development initiatives. This role is integral to the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit, which aims to enhance the World Bank's mission of eradicating extreme poverty and fostering shared prosperity through innovative technology solutions. The consultant will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that promote the ITS Country Engagement unit's objectives, ensuring that stakeholders are informed and engaged. This includes crafting executive communications, managing outreach activities, and coordinating events that align with the unit's priorities. The consultant will work closely with leadership and various teams to translate complex topics into clear, actionable messages, thereby facilitating effective communication across the organization and with external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the E T Consultant include serving as the primary contact for communications and stakeholder engagement within the ITS Country Engagement unit. The consultant will prepare a variety of communication materials such as presentations, briefing notes, and newsletters. They will develop success stories and promotional content that highlight the unit's initiatives and impact. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate engagement activities with various stakeholders, manage relationships with senior stakeholders, and track follow-up actions to ensure timely execution of communication strategies. Organizing workshops, forums, and other events will also be a key responsibility, along with maintaining stakeholder engagement plans and monitoring communication effectiveness. The consultant will be expected to identify opportunities for increasing awareness and visibility of ITSCE products and services, and support the preparation of management reviews and strategic planning activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the E T Consultant position must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building are essential. The ability to translate technical concepts into practical applications and support the adoption of technology solutions is crucial. Candidates should also demonstrate strong storytelling and presentation skills, with proficiency in visual communication techniques. Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are necessary, as is a proactive and client-focused approach to work. Familiarity with the World Bank Group's operational workflows and experience in organizing outreach activities are highly desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as communications, public relations, international development, or a related discipline. Candidates with degrees in technology or data science may also be considered, particularly if they have relevant experience in communication roles within the IT sector.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or a related field. Candidates with experience in the IT sector or within international development organizations, particularly those with a focus on technology and geospatial solutions, will be preferred. Experience in organizing events and outreach activities is also beneficial, as is familiarity with the workings of multilateral development banks or similar institutions.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the World Bank Group. While not required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which the World Bank operates.
