Job Overview:
The IT Operations Associate position is critical for coordinating and guiding Information Technology maintenance and support activities within the World Food Programme. The role is designed to ensure the effective delivery of IT services, which are essential for the operational success of WFP. The associate will be responsible for monitoring technology reliability, identifying user needs, analyzing data, and producing reports to recommend IT solutions that support informed decision-making. Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the IT Operations Associate position include a completion of secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related functional area. Additionally, IT certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, and ITIL are desirable. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to develop service enhancement recommendations based on service management results. Experience in business process re-engineering and participation in procurement/budgeting processes within a country office setting is also required.
Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education, and a post-secondary certificate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology is essential. IT certifications like Microsoft, Cisco, and ITIL are considered advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible work experience in a relevant business stream, particularly in administration roles within the UN or other international organizations. Experience in analyzing service management results and making recommendations for service enhancements is crucial. Additionally, candidates should have participated in business process re-engineering efforts and have experience in the procurement and budgeting processes within a country office context.
Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
