Job Overview:
The Technical Analyst for Sustainable Landscape and Commodities will play a crucial role in bridging national policy processes with landscape-level implementation under the Green Commodities Programme (GCP) and the Sustainable Landscape Programme Indonesia (SLPI). This position is pivotal in coordinating the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices across five landscapes, monitoring progress against donor commitments, and facilitating engagement with provincial and district governments. The Technical Analyst will support farmer capacity building, promote sustainability standards, and ensure alignment between field implementation and national policy objectives. This role requires continuous engagement with subnational stakeholders and implementation partners, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and effective communication to achieve sustainable outcomes in the palm oil sector and beyond.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:

• Leading and coordinating the implementation of technical activities related to sustainable agricultural commodities across project landscapes, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Analyzing and synthesizing data on sustainable commodity production to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
• Developing workplans, technical guidelines, and field implementation strategies to support sustainable agriculture interventions.
• Providing technical inputs to project reports and policy briefs, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Monitoring and evaluating field-level implementation of commodity-related activities, tracking progress, and recommending corrective actions.
• Delivering targeted technical assistance and capacity building to farmers and local governments to enhance sustainable practices.
• Facilitating collaboration with SLPI landscape partners and other stakeholders to ensure effective integration of interventions.
• Supporting strategic partnerships and communications related to sustainable commodity value chains.
• Contributing to knowledge building and sharing, including organizing training and capacity-building activities for stakeholders. 1
• Ensuring gender considerations are integrated into all activities and outputs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Development Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, Agriculture, Forestry, or any relevant Social Sciences field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the above fields combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be considered. The role requires a strong understanding of sustainable agriculture, commodity value chains, and landscape management, along with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Development Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, Agriculture, Forestry, or Social Sciences is required. A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these fields, combined with two years of relevant experience, will also be considered. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of sustainable development and natural resource management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in sustainable agriculture, commodity value chains, landscape management, or natural resource management for candidates with a bachelor’s degree. Applicants with a master’s degree are not required to have prior professional experience. Desired skills include experience in sustainable agriculture, commodity development, and engagement with government institutions and stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.
