Job Overview: The Gender Justice Project Analyst will play a crucial role in advancing gender equality within justice systems across Asia and the Pacific. This position is primarily focused on the Asia-Pacific Women Judges Network (APWJN) and initiatives that promote women's leadership in the judiciary. The analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and coordination of regional gender justice initiatives, ensuring effective delivery of program activities and results. The role requires collaboration with various teams within the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub to foster learning and innovation in gender justice. The analyst will also support the generation and dissemination of knowledge to strengthen gender-responsive justice systems and women's leadership, contributing directly to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 16, which aims for peaceful, just, and inclusive societies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Gender Justice Project Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Leading the implementation and coordination of regional gender justice initiatives, particularly focusing on the APWJN and women's leadership in the judiciary.
Developing annual and quarterly work plans, budgets, and risk management measures to support project delivery.
Coordinating national and regional activities such as judicial leadership colloquiums, consultations, and peer-learning exchanges.
Monitoring project implementation progress, identifying challenges, and proposing corrective actions to ensure timely achievement of milestones.
Supporting the generation of knowledge products and practical tools on gender justice and women's representation in the judiciary.
Preparing donor reports, progress reports, and communication materials to promote UNDP's gender justice work.
Strengthening partnerships with judicial institutions, civil society, and other stakeholders to advance gender justice initiatives.
Engaging in resource mobilization efforts to sustain and expand the regional gender justice portfolio.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Law, Gender, Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two additional years of qualifying experience will be considered. The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience with a master’s degree or four years with a bachelor’s degree, particularly in program support and coordination related to access to justice, rule of law, or human rights. Experience in designing and managing multi-country initiatives, facilitating judicial knowledge exchanges, and executing high-profile events is essential. Familiarity with gender equality programming and experience in the Asia-Pacific region are highly desirable.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Law, Gender, Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, or other Social Sciences is required. A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the stated areas, combined with additional qualifying experience, will also be considered. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender justice and the legal frameworks that govern it.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a master’s degree or four years for those with a bachelor’s degree. Candidates should have experience in program support and coordination, particularly in areas related to access to justice, rule of law, and human rights. Experience in designing and managing multi-country initiatives, facilitating judicial knowledge exchanges, and executing high-profile events is essential. Familiarity with gender equality programming and prior experience working in the Asia-Pacific region are also important.
