Job Overview:
This position involves the recruitment of three individual consultants to support agro-food and digital value chains, as well as the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of an integrated web platform known as GYB. The consultants will be expected to provide expert advice and support in their respective fields, contributing to the overall mission of enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of value chains in Cameroon. The role requires a deep understanding of both the agro-food sector and digital technologies, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives. The consultants will be engaged for a period of 6 to 5 months, depending on the specific needs of the project and the consultants' availability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultants will be responsible for a range of duties including but not limited to: conducting assessments of existing agro-food and digital value chains; providing strategic recommendations for improvement; designing and implementing training programs for stakeholders; developing the GYB web platform in collaboration with technical teams; ensuring the platform meets user needs and is user-friendly; maintaining and updating the platform post-launch; collaborating with local partners and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with national priorities; preparing reports and documentation for project progress; and participating in meetings and workshops to share findings and recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in either agro-food systems or digital technologies, with proven experience in project management and consultancy. They should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Familiarity with the UNDP procurement process and experience working in international development contexts will be considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to sustainable development and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as agricultural sciences, information technology, business administration, or a related discipline is required. A master's degree or higher qualification will be an advantage, particularly for candidates applying for the consultancy roles related to the GYB platform development.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in their respective fields. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. Proven track record of successful project implementation and stakeholder engagement is essential.
Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and partners. Proficiency in English is also highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with international teams and documentation. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region will be considered an asset.
Additional Notes:
This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the consultants will be expected to work remotely. The contract duration is flexible, ranging from 5 to 6 months, depending on project needs. The recruitment process is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
