Job Overview: The Senior Audiovisual Communications Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the IOM's communications objectives by ensuring brand compliance and producing high-quality audiovisual and graphic content. This position requires a creative individual who can contribute to the development and implementation of multimedia activities that enhance visibility and engagement across both digital and traditional platforms. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Regional Director and the Senior Regional Media and Communications Officer, collaborating closely with the communications team to deliver timely and impactful multimedia content. The role involves capturing photographs and video footage for various campaigns and events, editing videos for different platforms, and creating visual assets for both digital and print channels. The Senior Audiovisual Communications Associate will also be responsible for staying updated on emerging trends in digital storytelling and multimedia production, ensuring that the team utilizes the latest techniques and best practices in their work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the application of IOM branding guidelines and visual identity standards in all audiovisual and graphic outputs.
Contribute to maintaining consistency in tone, style, and overall quality across all multimedia products.
Capture photographs and video footage for campaigns, events, and field activities, collaborating with Regional Office staff and Mission communications focal points.
Edit videos for social media, web, and broadcast use, including adding subtitles, motion graphics, and branding elements.
Prepare and layout infographics, social media cards, and other visual assets for digital and print channels.
Operate photography and videography equipment to produce audiovisual materials for the Regional Office.
Utilize industry-standard software for photo editing, video production, and graphic design, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Provide technical support and training to staff on audiovisual best practices as needed.
Collaborate with the communications team to contribute creative ideas and ensure timely delivery of multimedia content. 1
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the communications activities of the Regional Office.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Multimedia Design, Graphic Arts, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant professional experience; or a high school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in photography, videography, and video editing for institutional or corporate communications.
Demonstrated experience in producing infographics and other graphic design outputs.
Familiarity with social media platforms and optimization of multimedia content for digital channels.
UN/NGO experience and knowledge in the field of migration would be an asset.
Strong creative and technical skills in multimedia production.
Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Knowledge of motion graphics and animation is an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Multimedia Design, Graphic Arts, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, candidates with a high school diploma must have six years of relevant professional experience. It is important that the educational qualifications are from accredited universities recognized in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in the field of communications, specifically in photography, videography, and video editing. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in producing infographics and other graphic design outputs, as well as familiarity with social media platforms and the optimization of multimedia content for digital channels. Experience within UN or NGO settings, particularly related to migration, is considered an asset.
Languages: All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish. For this specific position, fluency in both English and Arabic is required, both oral and written. Knowledge of French would be an advantage, and proficiency in the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
