Job Overview:
The Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) Assistant plays a crucial role in NRC's commitment to Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP). This position is designed to facilitate the safe collection, documentation, and follow-up of community feedback regarding NRC's programs and services. The CFM Assistant will be responsible for overseeing various feedback channels, such as phone hotlines and community outreach, ensuring that feedback is collected ethically and in accordance with NRC's guidelines. The role emphasizes the importance of community engagement and aims to strengthen program quality by incorporating community voices into organizational learning and program improvements. The CFM Assistant will also focus on NRC's cash programs, ensuring that feedback mechanisms are responsive to the needs of affected populations and that community members are aware of the services available to them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The CFM Assistant will have a wide range of responsibilities, including: receiving, recording, processing, and responding to community feedback through various channels; entering and maintaining feedback data in NRC's CFM data management system; ensuring confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive feedback; providing accurate information to project participants about NRC's services; supporting referrals and follow-ups with relevant program staff; monitoring and tracking feedback to ensure timely closure; supporting the filing and archiving of CFM reports; conducting awareness sessions with communities about NRC's CFM approach; answering hotline calls and documenting feedback in real-time; collecting feedback from community-based channels; translating communications when necessary; conducting spot checks on feedback mechanisms; managing CFM records; supporting logistics for CFM trainings; and sharing observations on accessibility and challenges in feedback handling. The Assistant will also carry out any other tasks as delegated by the line manager.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in accountability, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL), community engagement, or protection. A Bachelor's Degree or relevant vocational training is required. Knowledge of Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), child safeguarding, and the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required, with experience in Microsoft 365 collaboration tools being an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, both spoken and written, in English, and exhibit behavioral competencies such as handling insecure environments, working with people, and effective communication.
Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree or relevant vocational training in a field related to humanitarian assistance, social sciences, or a similar discipline. This educational background is essential to ensure that the CFM Assistant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively engage with communities and manage feedback mechanisms.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in fields such as accountability, MEAL, community engagement, or protection.
