Job Overview:
The Driver position is crucial for ensuring the timely and safe transportation of passengers and goods in accordance with the Operations Handbook, local driving regulations, and the Area security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-plan" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Plan. The role is primarily based in the Western Region of Afghanistan, where the Driver will be responsible for providing safe transport for area office staff, visitors, and organizational assets. This position requires maintaining vehicles in good repair and roadworthy condition, safeguarding passengers and vehicles, and ensuring confidentiality regarding movement. The Driver will also assist with basic communication with communities during field missions and will be expected to report movements regularly to the Radio Room. Additionally, the Driver will support transport and mechanics when needed and must report any incidents immediately. This role is essential for the smooth operation of logistics and safety within the organization.

Educational Background:

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of driving experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. Experience in a humanitarian or NGO context is preferred but not required.
Languages:
Proficiency in spoken Dari and Pashto is mandatory, with basic knowledge of English being beneficial. This language skill set is essential for effective communication with local communities and team members.
Additional Notes:
This position is open only to internal staff of DRC Afghanistan. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with the DRC salary scale. The application process requires interested candidates to submit a cover letter and an updated CV, both in the same language and not exceeding four pages.

- Cleaning and maintaining vehicles daily to ensure they are in good repair and roadworthy condition.

- Assisting with other office work as required by the Logistics and Safety team.
- Engaging in basic communication with communities during field missions.
- Reporting movements regularly to the Radio Room.

Required Qualifications:
