Job Overview:
The primary purpose of the Asistente Técnico de Alojamiento e Infraestructura, Agua, Saneamiento e Higiene position is to contribute to the implementation of humanitarian services related to shelter and infrastructure, as well as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in accordance with NRC's programmatic strategy. The role involves supporting technical activities of projects aimed at ensuring that affected individuals have access to adequate housing solutions, educational facilities, and various temporary or permanent community infrastructure solutions. Additionally, the position focuses on improving the health conditions of affected populations by ensuring their right to water and sanitation, facilitating access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene supplies that promote healthy practices, thereby enhancing their safety, protection, health, and dignity while avoiding harm and ensuring inclusive access to humanitarian assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Técnico will be responsible for ensuring adherence to NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines. Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of the project portfolio according to the action plan, organizing and executing tasks based on priorities and standards, and developing knowledge in the area of specialization to provide effective technical assistance. The role also involves resolving daily issues according to agreed procedures, preparing status reports for management, ensuring proper documentation filing, and promoting ideas to strengthen the functions of the role. Specific duties include providing efficient and timely shelter and infrastructure services, conducting needs assessments, promoting positive behavioral changes regarding WASH practices, facilitating information sessions and workshops, incorporating sociocultural adaptations into designs, monitoring financial expenditures, requesting necessary materials, conducting quality control, distributing non-food items, and participating in community-based projects. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a professional background in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydraulics, or related fields in infrastructure construction, with specialization in project coordination or management related to construction (including WASH facilities). A minimum of one year of experience as a Technical Assistant in humanitarian contexts is required, along with knowledge and experience in the technical field and relevant professional qualifications. Candidates should have experience in complex and changing contexts, proven experience related to the responsibilities of the position, and basic knowledge of the English language. Additionally, candidates should have experience in implementing housing projects, educational facilities, community infrastructure, and WASH projects in emergency contexts, as well as knowledge of national and international humanitarian action regulations.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is essential for this position, with candidates expected to hold a degree in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydraulics, or related fields. Specialization in project management or coordination related to construction and WASH facilities is highly desirable. Continuous professional development and training in relevant areas will also be beneficial for candidates.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one year of professional experience in implementing housing, educational, or community infrastructure projects, as well as experience working with governmental entities, UN agencies, or other humanitarian organizations in shelter and WASH-related topics in emergency contexts. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of participatory methodologies for project execution and experience in managing water treatment and sanitation systems in emergencies.

Languages:
Basic knowledge of English is mandatory for this position.
