Job Overview: The purpose of the position is to contribute to the implementation of humanitarian services related to Shelter and Infrastructure, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in accordance with NRC's programmatic strategy. The role supports technical activities of projects aimed at ensuring affected individuals have access to adequate housing solutions, educational facilities, and various temporary or permanent community infrastructure solutions. Additionally, it focuses on improving health conditions, ensuring the right to water and sanitation, and promoting healthy hygiene practices to enhance safety, protection, health, and dignity among affected populations. Duties and Responsibilities: The Asistente Técnico will be responsible for ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines. Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of project portfolios according to action plans, organizing and executing tasks based on priorities and standards, and developing knowledge in the area of specialization to provide effective technical assistance. The role involves conducting needs assessments, promoting positive behavioral changes regarding housing and hygiene practices, facilitating information sessions and workshops, and incorporating sociocultural adaptations into architectural designs. A minimum of one year of experience as a Technical Assistant in humanitarian contexts is required, along with knowledge and experience in technical fields relevant to the position. Candidates should have experience working in complex and changing environments, with proven experience related to the responsibilities of the role. Basic knowledge of English is also necessary, along with competencies in participatory methodologies for project execution and community engagement.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background is essential, with candidates expected to hold a degree in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydraulics, or related fields. Specialization in project coordination or management of construction projects, particularly in WASH, is highly desirable.
