The Finance Officer position is crucial for the overall cash supervision of the country office. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Officer will have a range of responsibilities including:
- Maintaining external contacts and collaborating closely with the program team on cash distributions.
- Conducting limited travel to the field for cash distribution activities.
- Linking with DRC bases on financial issues and possibly visiting bases to participate in financial training.
- Ensuring that finance supporting documents are complete and properly coded.
- Working with the logistics department to ensure timely payments to suppliers.
- Updating the signature schedule monthly and ensuring compliance.
- Performing scheduled and unscheduled cash counts and documenting these activities.
- Organizing transfers and liaising with banks regarding cash issues.
- Managing the payment of bills, including electricity and post-paid bills. 1
- Following up on advances and ensuring proper recording and clearance in the absence of the cashier. 1
- Maintaining an updated computerized cash book and ensuring proper filing of accounting documents. 1
- Supporting the finance department during audits and performing any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Required Qualifications:
