Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Office in the IOM Mission in Armenia and will collaborate with relevant units at Headquarters and the Administrative Centres. The primary responsibility of this role is to implement project activities under the IOM Armenia Country Office. The Project Coordinator will independently lead and coordinate the implementation of the project, ensuring that activities are proceeding according to established plans. This includes monitoring the implementation of activities, analyzing difficulties, and making recommendations for adjustments to work plans to reflect the changing environment in the field. The role also involves regular research, follow-up, compilation, analysis, and presentation of information/data on national, regional, and international developments, reports, legislation, and other relevant documentation. The Project Coordinator will monitor budget expenditures, coordinate financial, administrative, and technical aspects of the project, and conduct capacity-building workshops for relevant parties. Additionally, the role requires maintaining effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors, and other stakeholders relevant to the project. The Project Coordinator will also prepare correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, narrative and financial reports, and ensure timely submission of status reports. Furthermore, the role includes identifying and documenting good practices and lessons learned, contributing to the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP), policies, and concept papers to support the development of new projects, and supervising and providing guidance and training to reporting staff.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include:
Independently leading and coordinating the implementation of project activities under the IOM Armenia Country Office.
Monitoring the implementation of activities to ensure compliance with established plans.
Analyzing implementation difficulties and making recommendations for adjustments to work plans.
Conducting regular research and compiling data on national, regional, and international developments relevant to migration.
Monitoring budget expenditures and maintaining records of approved project budgets.
Coordinating financial, administrative, and technical aspects of the project in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
Planning and conducting capacity-building workshops for internal and external parties.
Participating in meetings and conferences to represent IOM and the project.
Maintaining effective liaison with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders. 1

Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Project Coordinator position include:
A Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or a High School diploma with seven years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs.
Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, NGOs, or government institutions in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas, border governance, border security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and institutional capacity development.
Strong project management, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent analytical, drafting, and reporting skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with governmental and international stakeholders.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the Project Coordinator position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, candidates with a High School diploma may apply if they have seven years of relevant professional experience. It is important that the educational qualifications are from accredited universities listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: The level of experience needed for the Project Coordinator position includes a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or seven years for those with a High School diploma. Candidates should have experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs. Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups is essential. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multicultural setting is considered an advantage.
Languages: For this position, fluency in English and Armenian is required, both oral and written. Additionally, a working knowledge of Russian is desirable. The proficiency of the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish.
Additional Notes: Additional notes regarding the Project Coordinator position include that any offer made to the candidate is subject to funding confirmation.
