Job Overview: The role of the Asistente técnico de logística is crucial for the daily implementation of logistics management activities related to the specific needs of various projects, encompassing both goods and services. The Asistente técnico de logística will be responsible for supporting the logistics function's portfolio in accordance with the Action Plan, providing logistical administration and basic support across all organizational areas, preparing status reports as required by management, and ensuring the accurate presentation of all supporting documents to the financial unit. Additionally, the role involves participating in the planning and delivery of logistical activities, maintaining documentary records of logistics management, and promoting ideas for improving logistics functions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Asistente técnico de logística will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: implementing NRC's policies, SOPs, manuals, guidelines, and donor requirements in daily logistics activities; supporting market analysis to determine the best intervention methods; participating in project purchasing planning; executing procurement processes in accordance with organizational guidelines; implementing alternative purchasing processes; utilizing and recording data in institutional tools for effective procurement management; assisting in supplier evaluations; ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs); managing warehouse operations, including proper storage and rotation of stock; maintaining accurate records of NRC's assets; supervising the packaging, loading, and unloading of materials; ensuring safety standards in warehouse operations; managing fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance and transportation planning; and executing other tasks as assigned by direct supervision.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in support functions within humanitarian contexts, demonstrating the ability to adapt to complex and changing environments. They should have proven experience related to the responsibilities of the position, including knowledge of supply chain management, warehouse management, asset management, and transportation logistics. Basic proficiency in English is required, along with strong skills in MS Office applications and experience with ERP software. Candidates should also exhibit professional competencies such as effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a technical or technological degree or be a student in the final semesters of a degree program in Business Administration, Logistics Management, International Business, or similar fields. This educational background will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively perform the duties associated with the position.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in a similar role, particularly in humanitarian assistance contexts. Candidates should have a solid understanding of supply chain management, warehouse operations, and asset management, as well as experience in managing logistics in both national and international contexts.
