Job Overview:
The Senior Information Systems Assistant position is situated within the Enterprise Solutions Service of OICT, specifically hosted by UNICTF in Valencia, Spain. The incumbent will report directly to a Senior Information Systems Officer and will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the development and maintenance of computer information systems, databases, and applications. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex issues and participating in the development, programming, testing, and implementation of new computer application systems. The position demands a strong understanding of various programming languages and the ability to design and develop systems that adhere to UN standards. The Senior Information Systems Assistant will also be involved in managing technical documentation, conducting feasibility studies, and providing guidance and training to junior staff. This role is critical in ensuring that the UN's information systems are efficient, secure, and aligned with the organization's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Information Systems Assistant will undertake a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing support for computer information systems and applications; performing complex troubleshooting; participating in the development and implementation of new systems; designing and developing application systems using multiple programming languages; installing software and hardware according to specifications; monitoring applications and producing reports; managing technical documentation; assisting in the development of operational procedures; leading projects related to application systems; conducting research on new technologies; providing training to junior staff; and preparing data presentations and reports for decision-making purposes. The role also involves keeping abreast of developments in the field and contributing to the continuous improvement of the organization's information systems.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a first-level university degree being acceptable in lieu of two years of required experience. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in information systems analysis, programming, systems administration, and software development is required. Specific experience requirements include at least 7 years in developing web applications using .Net Core and JavaScript/TypeScript, 6 years in GIS applications using ArcGIS technology, and 5 years in software development using Agile methodologies and tools like Git and Azure DevOps. Additionally, 2 years of experience in using React to build single-page applications is required. Experience in security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">information security and machine learning is desirable, as well as at least one year in data analytics or a related area.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent. This flexibility allows for a broader range of applicants to qualify for the position, emphasizing the importance of practical experience in the field of information systems alongside formal education.

Experience:
The position requires a substantial level of experience, specifically a minimum of 10 years in progressively responsible roles related to information systems. Languages:
