Job Overview:
The Senior Program Manager (SPM) will lead a complex portfolio focused on introducing innovative health products in low- and middle-income countries. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of program delivery, including work planning, budget oversight, and coordination across a multi-country team. The SPM will be accountable for program outcomes and may manage junior and mid-level staff. The position requires excellent project management skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities, and a high degree of initiative and ownership. The SPM will also shape the cluster's technical and market shaping strategy, guiding product landscaping efforts and engaging with manufacturers and donors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the operating rhythm of a large, complex program, including work planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and budget oversight across a distributed, multi-country team.
• Own program delivery end-to-end, ensuring workstreams stay on schedule, on budget, and aligned with donor and organizational expectations.
• Design and continuously improve project management tools and processes to track work plans, milestones, deliverables, and risk across the portfolio.
• Oversee the production of high-quality program deliverables globally, including donor reports and presentations for senior external audiences.
• Lead high-level calls and convenings with partner organizations, donors, and senior stakeholders, representing the program in relevant external forums.
• Manage and develop junior and mid-level staff, providing feedback and supporting professional growth.
• Anticipate and proactively resolve roadblocks that cross program or organizational boundaries.
• Ensure organized, complete, and accessible program documentation and files.
• Lead the development of analyses and frameworks to identify and prioritize new product opportunities. 1
• Guide product landscaping efforts to inform CHAI strategy and programs. 1
• Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and prospective donors, leading identification of new program and funding opportunities. 1
• Contribute to the cluster's broader strategy and help set the technical approach for the program area. 1
• Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 1
• Up to 25-40% international travel may be required.

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Business, Economics, Public Health, or a related discipline.
• At least 9–11 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated success in independently managing large, complex programs with multiple stakeholders and significant budgets.
• Proven experience in managing, developing, and mentoring staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver polished materials for senior audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to set direction, manage multiple competing priorities, and operate independently.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations and in fast-paced, multicultural environments.
• Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to navigate senior stakeholder relationships. 1
• Strong understanding of program financial management, budgeting, and donor fiscal requirements. 1

• Familiarity with global health issues.

Educational Background:
