Job Overview:
The Project Manager for Management & Operations (M&O) will work under the guidance of the Associate Director, M&O, to oversee the planning, execution, and finalization of project tasks for a significant U.S. Government-funded global health initiative. This role involves managing resources and coordinating efforts among HQ team members to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing core activity work plans, monitoring activities, and managing contractual deliverables. They will also serve as a point of contact for operational challenges and collaborate with various enterprise service units to facilitate smooth project operations. Although this position is not primarily focused on country-level management, there may be opportunities to support country teams as needed. The role is contingent on donor funding, emphasizing the importance of effective project management and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: managing the development of core work plans and initiatives from initiation to completion; contributing to the creation of project management tools for efficient monitoring; collaborating with technical and program management teams to resolve issues; monitoring contractual deliverables regularly; managing select core-funded initiatives with a focus on risk minimization and budget monitoring; troubleshooting implementation challenges; maintaining communication with partners; contributing to the development of activity reports; and ensuring that all project personnel receive proper orientation to the organization and project systems. The Project Manager will also be tasked with developing best practices for project execution and management, evaluating team performance, and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of project management principles and practices, with strong skills in process development and execution. They should have excellent oral and written communication abilities, demonstrated project and personnel management skills, and the capacity to influence and motivate team members. The ideal candidate will be a strong negotiator and problem solver, capable of working independently and collaboratively with various departments and external stakeholders. A thorough knowledge of project management software and technologies is essential, as well as the ability to create and manage systems and processes effectively.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in fields such as Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, Youth, or related areas is required. Additionally, a Project Management (PM) Certification is strongly preferred, indicating a formal recognition of the candidate's project management expertise and capabilities.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 8 years of relevant experience in project management principles and practices, with a minimum of 2 years in a management role. Experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization is preferred, along with a background in international or domestic program development or project management. This extensive experience is crucial for effectively navigating the complexities of managing large-scale projects and ensuring successful outcomes.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Additionally, proficiency in a second language such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, or Arabic is considered an added advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and contribute to international projects.

Additional Notes:
This position may require travel of approximately 10% to 25%. The expected salary range for this role is between USD $90,000 and $110,000 annually, depending on various factors such as experience and education. FHI 360 offers a competitive benefits package, including a 7% contribution to a pension plan, 18 days of paid vacation, 12 sick days, and 11 holidays per year for full-time staff.
