AJTKD's mission is to provide free access to sports, cultural, and social activities for at-risk children and youth. Its main objectives include developing projects aimed at social inclusion, defending children's rights, promoting peace and human rights, preventing drug abuse, fostering environmental education, contributing to health and well-being, promoting gender equality, and reducing violence against women. AJTKD also coordinates the Martial Arts Coalition for Sustainable Development (MCS), which connects organizations using martial arts to address sustainable development challenges, and currently includes over 120 organizations worldwide.

Job Overview:
The position involves supporting AJTKD in researching and mapping organizations globally that utilize martial arts and sports as tools for sustainable development. The Online Volunteers will play a crucial role in identifying and documenting civil society organizations, clubs, academies, and initiatives that contribute to social inclusion, youth empowerment, education, peacebuilding, gender equality, health, environmental sustainability, and community development. This assignment is essential for creating a structured map of relevant organizations and initiatives, which will help AJTKD identify opportunities for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration within the sustainable development community. The research findings will ultimately strengthen connections between grassroots sports initiatives and broader sustainable development efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteers will be responsible for conducting online research to identify relevant organizations and initiatives that use martial arts and sports for sustainable development. Their duties will include mapping organizations by country/region, type, thematic focus, and target beneficiaries. They will review publicly available information to understand each organization's activities and contributions to sustainable development. Volunteers will record relevant information in a structured database, including organization names, countries, websites, contact information (where available), areas of work, and relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will also identify organizations that align with the objectives of the Martial Arts Coalition for Sustainable Development (MCS) and provide a rationale for their relevance for future networking and collaboration. Finally, they will organize their findings into a prioritized list for review by the AJTKD team, although they will not be responsible for contacting the organizations directly.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong research skills, particularly in online environments, and have a good understanding of sustainable development concepts and the role of sports in social inclusion. Familiarity with martial arts and its impact on community development is an advantage. Volunteers should be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and possess good organizational skills to manage the mapping process effectively. Proficiency in using databases and data entry tools is also required, along with the ability to synthesize information clearly and concisely.

Educational Background:
A background in social sciences, international development, sports management, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of sustainable development goals and the role of civil society organizations in promoting social change. Relevant coursework or training in research methodologies will be beneficial.

Experience:
While prior experience in research or mapping organizations is advantageous, it is not strictly required. However, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in sustainable development and community engagement, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a virtual environment. Experience in volunteer work or involvement in community projects will be viewed favorably.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, given the organization's location and target audience. Proficiency in English is also required to access international resources and communicate findings effectively. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered a plus, especially if it pertains to regions where martial arts initiatives are prevalent.
