Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the research and development of environmentally sustainable phytosanitary measures. Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining fruit fly colonies used in phytosanitary treatment research, which involves preparing larval and adult diets.
• Participating in experiments that evaluate the efficacy of various treatments, including cold, hot water, and irradiation methods for controlling fruit fly pests.
• Dissecting infested fruit utilized in experiments to assess treatment effectiveness.
• Recording experimental data meticulously and conducting thermocouple calibration measurements to support ongoing research in phytosanitary treatments.
• Collaborating with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of laboratory activities and contribute to the overall objectives of the Insect Pest Control Laboratory.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Agricultural Sciences. Additionally, they should have experience in rearing fruit flies of economic importance, which is crucial for the research being conducted. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential for effective collaboration within the team and for managing laboratory tasks efficiently. Educational Background:
