Job Overview:
The Head (Senior Intelligence Analyst) for the PMESII Team 2 is responsible for directing, managing, and coordinating a team that provides medium- to long-term operational and strategic level information and knowledge analysis on existing, emerging, and future security challenges and potential crises. The incumbent will contribute to situational awareness and comprehensive understanding by researching, analyzing, and monitoring reports and databases. The role involves identifying opportunities and actionable recommendations to enhance NATO's effectiveness and understanding of regional peace and stability in the South. The position requires a deep understanding of the political, military, economic, social, information, and infrastructure domains, and the ability to implement systematic methodologies for effective research. The incumbent will also be involved in horizon scanning and foresight analysis to anticipate and respond to crises in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent's duties include contributing to the provision of PMESII knowledge to identify risks and vulnerabilities facing NATO, managing and directing research efforts, producing comprehensive reports and studies, implementing systematic methodologies for effective research, monitoring PMESII-related developments, identifying and analyzing challenges in the region, and providing tailored PMESII knowledge products. The role also involves gathering, evaluating, and interpreting information to support the NSD-S Hub knowledge requirements, preparing project proposals, and directing staff members in the completion of tasks. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing briefings, advising and mentoring analysts, and applying Systems Analysis methodologies to address various domains.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a University Degree in criminology, police, public or business administration, administration of justice, law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">criminal law, political theory, behavioral or social psychology, or a related discipline, along with 4 years of post-related experience. Alternatively, candidates with Higher Secondary education and advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or accreditation, along with 5 years of post-related experience and 2 years of function-related experience, are also eligible. Experience in planning, managing, and conducting intelligence activities, preparing intelligence assessments, and managing intelligence data handling systems is essential. Candidates should also have experience assessing industrial, technological, geographical, and sociological factors.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a University Degree in a relevant field such as criminology, public administration, political theory, or social psychology. Alternatively, a Higher Secondary education with advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification is acceptable, provided it is accompanied by sufficient post-related experience. The educational background should ideally include knowledge of the PMESII domains and methodologies relevant to intelligence analysis.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in intelligence analysis, including activities related to the collection, analysis, processing, and dissemination of intelligence information. Candidates should have experience in a joint multi-national environment, particularly in military cooperation activities and NATO or national operational intelligence. Familiarity with the SoSA process and previous experience in joint staff functions, preferably in a NATO environment, is highly desirable.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with a proficiency level of SLP 3333 in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The work is conducted mainly in English, and candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
The successful candidate will receive a three-year definite duration contract, which may be followed by an indefinite duration contract. The position is full-time, and the basic entry-level monthly salary for a NATO Grade G17 in Italy is Euro 7,246.22, subject to allowances and deductions for pension and medical insurance contributions. Candidates must be nationals of a NATO member country, aged between 21 and 60 years at the time of appointment, and must be eligible for NATO security clearance. The role may require travel to other HQs and the ability to work irregular hours. The incumbent will also be responsible for supervising a team and providing professional guidance and mentorship.
