Job Overview:
The role of the Biomedical Engineering Technician - Associate is to support health project teams in coordinating, verifying, installing, and implementing preventive maintenance of medical equipment. Initially, the technician will assist in activities and operations related to the main project supporting the Ministry of Health in strengthening the resilience of the health system. The technician will travel to various regions of the country to support assessment, monitoring, coordination, reception, installation, and quality assurance of medical equipment. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all medical equipment is properly maintained and operational, contributing to the overall effectiveness of health services provided to the population.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of the senior biomedical engineer, the Biomedical Engineering Technician - Associate will perform the following tasks: Support the multidisciplinary UNOPS technical team in executing the project. Assist with site visits - verifying hospital spaces in preparation for receiving equipment. Aid in drafting technical reports with an emphasis on medical technology. Support the coordination and monitoring of deliveries, installations, and commissioning of medical equipment within various beneficiary health institutions. Assist in drafting compliance reports/state of readiness for beneficiary sites in view of provisional acceptance. Support various quality assurance activities as part of UNOPS's mandate. Facilitate the coordination efforts with different suppliers. Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program. Work closely with the administrative support team of the health unit to optimize logistical activities. Execute any other tasks to facilitate the delivery of project outputs. Support training activities for local biomedical technicians. Assist in inventory management and deployment of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ensure mastery of expected outputs for each activity in which he/she is involved, within specified tolerance limits regarding deadlines, costs, quality, scope, risks, and benefits. The biomedical engineer must also ensure that project results yield the benefits outlined in the project documents.
• Participate, under the direction of the supervisor, in drafting various reports as defined in the communication plan of the projects to which he/she will be assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Required: A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering with a secondary school diploma (BAC) is required. One (1) year of work experience is required for candidates holding a degree in biomedical engineering, electrotechnics, electronics, electromechanics, electrical engineering, or equivalent. Desired: Internship experience in a hospital setting is desirable.

Educational Background:
Required: A secondary school diploma (BAC) is required. Desired: A degree in biomedical engineering, electrotechnics, electronics, electromechanics, or equivalent, or a bachelor's degree (BAC+3).

Experience:
