Job Overview:
The Public Partnership Specialist P3 position at UNICEF is focused on driving partnership, advocacy, and resource mobilization efforts. The role involves strategic engagement with the U.S. government and other partners, elevating the Washington Office’s external engagement, and coordinating knowledge management and advocacy efforts. The specialist will work within the Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Division (PPR), which aims to strengthen UNICEF’s position as a partner of choice for children’s rights among various stakeholders. The position requires a proactive approach to building relationships and advocating for children's rights, ensuring that UNICEF's mission is effectively communicated and supported by external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive Partnership, Advocacy & Resource Mobilization: Develop and implement strategies to enhance partnerships with the U.S. government and other stakeholders.
• Support strategic engagement with U.S. government and other partners: Facilitate communication and collaboration between UNICEF and key governmental entities.
• Elevate the Washington Office’s External Engagement: Enhance the visibility and impact of UNICEF’s work through effective external engagement strategies.
• Coordinate knowledge management and advocacy: Manage information and resources to support advocacy efforts and ensure alignment with UNICEF’s mission and goals.
• Formulate advice for management by gathering relevant insights and data to inform decision-making.
• Organize and support advocacy events to promote UNICEF’s objectives and engage stakeholders effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as Social Science, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or International Development. A Bachelor’s degree combined with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in partnerships, government relations, public sector partnerships, legislative affairs, external relations, and political analysis, particularly with the U.S. government.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Science, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, International Development, Economics, or related fields is required. A Bachelor’s degree with additional relevant work experience may also be considered.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required, particularly in partnerships, government relations, public sector partnerships, legislative affairs, and stakeholder engagement. Experience liaising with the U.S. government, especially the Legislative Branch, is essential. Candidates should also have experience in policy advocacy and developing communication strategies.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable, as it can enhance communication and collaboration in a diverse work environment.
