Job Overview:
The Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the capacity of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) to implement effective cash assistance programs in a challenging humanitarian environment. This position involves providing strategic leadership and technical guidance to ensure that cash assistance initiatives are well-integrated into SARC's operations. The CVA Coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders, including the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to strengthen cash preparedness and program quality. The role requires regular travel to field locations to oversee the implementation of cash assistance programs and ensure that they meet the needs of vulnerable populations while contributing to local market recovery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The CVA Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess robust technical expertise in Cash and Voucher Assistance programming, with practical experience in designing and implementing market-based programs in humanitarian contexts. A sound understanding of cash preparedness, organizational readiness, and integrated humanitarian programming is essential. Candidates should also have experience in strengthening institutional capacity and delivering training to staff and volunteers. Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills are required, along with excellent coordination and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Educational Background:
A relevant degree in humanitarian studies, international development, social sciences, or a related field is required. Advanced qualifications or certifications in cash programming or related areas will be considered an asset.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian programming, specifically in Cash and Voucher Assistance or market-based programming. Experience working in complex humanitarian contexts, particularly in the Middle East, is highly desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.
Additional Notes:
This position is an unaccompanied role with a 12-month fixed-term contract that is renewable. The salary for this position is £39,894 per annum, along with a monthly allowance of £1,617.1
