Job Overview:
The Project Facilitation Officer for Training and Workforce Development will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the i-Work program’s training and workforce development activities specifically in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. This position is designed to coordinate various initiatives aimed at enhancing market-aligned skills training, work readiness, internships, mentoring, and work-based learning opportunities. A significant emphasis will be placed on empowering young women and disadvantaged youth, ensuring that these groups have access to the necessary resources and support to succeed in the workforce. The officer will work closely with local stakeholders to align training programs with market needs, thereby enhancing employability and fostering sustainable economic development in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as education, social sciences, or workforce development. Strong experience in training design and delivery, particularly in the context of employability and youth skills development, is essential. Familiarity with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems is highly desirable. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in conducting training needs assessments, curriculum development, and facilitating training sessions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with local stakeholders are critical for success in this role.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position. Candidates with advanced degrees or specialized training in education, workforce development, or related fields will be considered favorably. Relevant certifications in training design or facilitation may also enhance a candidate's application.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in training design and delivery, with a focus on youth skills development and employability. Experience working with disadvantaged youth and understanding the challenges they face in accessing training and employment opportunities is crucial. Languages:
