Job Overview:
In this full-time, permanent position, the Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of Individual Support Specialists and Individual Support Workers to deliver the federally-funded Leaving Violence Payments program nationally. The role involves working from home during standard business hours (8.30am to 5.30pm WST) and requires the Team Leader to report to the Service Manager. The position is specifically for residents of Western Australia, and the successful candidate will be expected to provide trauma-informed and person-centered support to victim survivors of intimate partner violence. The Team Leader will play a crucial role in driving high performance within the team, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements, and maintaining a strong focus on service quality and victim-survivor outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will have a variety of responsibilities, including providing guidance, support, and leadership to the team of practitioners. This includes coaching and performance management to ensure that the team is functioning effectively. The Team Leader will collaborate with other Team Leaders to oversee day-to-day service operations, ensuring that all activities comply with relevant policies and regulatory requirements. They will also be responsible for adjusting resource allocations as needed to optimize service delivery. Additionally, the Team Leader will serve as the first point of escalation for approvals, service queries, and operational challenges, maintaining a strong focus on service quality and adherence to best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a three-year Bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling, community services, psychology, or a related field. Professional registration with one of the following governing bodies is required: ACA, PACFA, AASW, or AHPRA. Furthermore, extensive demonstrated experience in a leadership role within health, community, social services, or other relevant sectors is essential, ideally with a focus on family, domestic, and sexual violence. Strong leadership skills are necessary to motivate and guide a high-performing team towards achieving collective goals and positive program and client outcomes.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a three-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as social work, counselling, community services, psychology, or a related discipline.
