Job Overview:
The Centre Support Consultant will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the Protection Centre, ensuring a safe and effective environment for beneficiaries. Under the direct supervision of the Protection Center Manager and in coordination with the Protection and Medical teams, the consultant will assist with beneficiary reception, follow-up, and the identification and referral of protection and medical needs. The role requires a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the 'Do No Harm' principles. The consultant will be responsible for providing support to beneficiaries, particularly those with reduced mobility or medical vulnerabilities, and will assist in their daily living activities while respecting their dignity and privacy. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with both beneficiaries and the medical team, ensuring that all health concerns are reported promptly and appropriately.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Centre Support Consultant include ensuring a continuous and professional presence in the Centre during assigned shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays. The consultant will assist beneficiaries with their daily needs, including food and sanitation, and will identify those requiring medical attention, promptly informing the medical team. They will support beneficiaries with reduced mobility by accompanying them to medical appointments and assist with personal hygiene and daily living activities. The consultant will conduct regular rounds to identify operational problems, safety concerns, and medical needs, and will maintain attendance records and daily registers. They will facilitate communication between beneficiaries and the IOM Medical team, activate emergency procedures when necessary, and report any incidents involving violence or safeguarding concerns. Participation in Centre meetings and training sessions is also expected.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires secondary education as a minimum. Training or studies in social sciences, humanitarian action, healthcare, psychology, social work, or a related field are advantageous. Candidates should have at least two years of professional experience in a similar role, particularly in contact with vulnerable populations. Experience in reception contexts, social centers, or humanitarian protection is a plus. Knowledge of migrant protection principles, confidentiality, and sensitive situation management is essential. Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills, patience, responsibility, and respect for cultural differences are critical. Discretion, maturity, and the ability to manage stressful situations are also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a secondary education. Additional training or studies in relevant fields such as social sciences, humanitarian action, healthcare, psychology, or social work will be considered an advantage and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of professional experience in a similar role is required, particularly with vulnerable populations. Experience in reception contexts, social centers, or humanitarian protection is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of migrant protection principles and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and maturity.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is required, both oral and written. A working knowledge of Arabic is desirable and will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy will involve rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as determined by the operational needs of the Centre. On-site presence during assigned hours is mandatory. The consultant must commit to respecting the principles of 'Do No Harm', confidentiality, and the IOM Code of Conduct. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan for the duration of the consultancy, but does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational accidents or illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance and must provide proof of coverage before starting work. Any offer made is subject to funding confirmation and the candidate's medical fitness for appointment, as well as any residency or visa requirements. IOM has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct incompatible with its aims, including discrimination and harassment. IOM does not charge fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
