Job Overview:
The Senior Project Associate (Case Management) will play a crucial role in the project titled 'Regular Migration Status and Socioeconomic Integration for Migrants Received by the Government of Costa Rica.' This project aims to facilitate the successful integration of migrants who choose to remain in Costa Rica. The Senior Project Associate will be responsible for coordinating case management activities, ensuring that migrants have access to legal identity, long-term regular status, and essential services such as housing, food, and health care. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring and evaluating the implementation of case management activities, addressing challenges, and adapting strategies to meet the evolving needs of the migrant population. The role also involves conducting capacity-building workshops, liaising with various stakeholders, and preparing reports to document progress and outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Associate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Coordinate overall case management activities of the Integration Programme in Costa Rica.
• Independently lead and implement the project, ensuring adherence to established plans and timelines.
• Monitor case management activities, analyze challenges, and recommend adjustments to improve implementation.
• Research and compile data on migrant integration, including national and international developments, and present findings to relevant parties.
• Monitor budget expenditures related to case management, ensuring proper record-keeping and compliance with donor requirements.
• Plan and conduct capacity-building workshops for case managers and external stakeholders.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations, ensuring timely submission of status reports.
• Document best practices and contribute to the development of Case Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 1
• Supervise and provide guidance to project associates and other reporting staff. 1
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health or Social Sciences, Human Rights, Law, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with five years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a High School diploma with seven years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates should have experience in liaising with governmental authorities and working with vulnerable groups, including migrants and refugees. Experience in international humanitarian organizations is an advantage. Skills in monitoring and evaluation, case management, strategic protection planning, and crisis management are essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Psychology, Health or Social Sciences, Human Rights, or Law is required. Candidates with a High School diploma must have extensive relevant experience to qualify for the position. The educational background should be from an accredited academic institution to ensure the quality of education received.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or seven years for those with a High School diploma. Experience should include working with governmental authorities, UN agencies, and NGOs, particularly in contexts involving migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable populations. Prior experience in international humanitarian settings is highly valued and will enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. Candidates will be evaluated on their language proficiency during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

This position is classified as a Special Short Term contract at the G7 level, with a gross salary of CRC 1,857,38
