Job Overview:
The position of PRC0183372 focuses on supporting territorial development, local economic development, SDG localization, and resource mobilization in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role is designed for an individual contractor who will work on strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainable development and resilience in the region. The contractor will be expected to engage with various stakeholders, including local governments, civil society, and private sector actors, to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and facilitate resource mobilization efforts. The position is home-based, allowing for flexibility while requiring a commitment to deliver high-quality outputs within the specified timeframe. The estimated start date for this contract is September 2026, and the contractor will be engaged for a total of 145 working days over a period of 9 months.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Conducting assessments of local economic development strategies and their alignment with the SDGs.
• Facilitating workshops and training sessions for local stakeholders on SDG localization and resource mobilization techniques.
• Developing strategic partnerships with local governments, NGOs, and private sector entities to enhance collaborative efforts in achieving sustainable development.
• Preparing reports and documentation that outline progress, challenges, and recommendations for future actions related to territorial development.
• Engaging in continuous communication with UNDP and other relevant partners to ensure alignment of objectives and strategies.
• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of implemented initiatives and providing feedback for improvement.
• Contributing to the development of knowledge products that capture best practices and lessons learned in the field of territorial development and resource mobilization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in development studies, economics, or a related field. They should have demonstrated experience in territorial development, local economic development, and resource mobilization. Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals and their implementation at the local level is essential. Additionally, candidates should have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in project management and strategic planning is also required, along with a proven track record of successful project implementation in similar contexts.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master's degree in development studies, economics, public administration, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree may be considered if they have extensive relevant experience in the field. Continuous professional development and training in areas related to sustainable development and resource mobilization will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in the field of territorial development, local economic development, or resource mobilization. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of the UN or similar agencies, is highly desirable. Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building is essential for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable given the regional focus of the position. Knowledge of other languages relevant to the Latin American and Caribbean context will be considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with diverse stakeholders.
