Job Overview:
The Nutrition Manager position at UNICEF Philippines involves leading one of the largest and most innovative nutrition programs in the region. The role requires strategic and technical leadership to strengthen maternal and child nutrition, address malnutrition in all its forms, and support government-led systems strengthening. The manager will oversee a multidisciplinary nutrition team of 12 and manage a diverse portfolio that includes policy and governance, legislative advocacy, nutrition financing, and emergency preparedness. The position emphasizes evidence-informed programming, innovation, and collaboration with government and development partners to scale up high-impact nutrition interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide management and advisory support to the Chief of Health and Nutrition.
  • Develop and plan nutrition programs that align with UNICEF's strategic goals.
  • Manage, monitor, and ensure the delivery of results for nutrition programs.
  • Offer advisory services and technical support to government and partners.
  • Build partnerships and advocate for nutrition initiatives.
  • Foster innovation, manage knowledge, and build capacity within the team and with partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in nutrition and dietetics, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have at least 8 years of relevant work experience in nutrition, public health, or maternal and child health/nutrition care, particularly in developing countries. Skills in nutrition planning, monitoring and evaluation, public health, and maternal and child health are essential.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in a relevant field such as nutrition and dietetics, public health, nutritional epidemiology, or health sciences is required for this position.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in nutrition, public health, or related fields, particularly in developing countries. Experience in health/nutrition program/project development and management within a UN system agency or organization is highly desirable. Relevant experience in emergency response and results-based management is also valuable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
