Job Overview: The Communication and Reporting Analyst will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a comprehensive communications and visibility strategy for the Nepal project. This position requires the development and management of communication materials, coordination of outreach with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with UNDP and donor branding requirements. The analyst will document project achievements, produce multimedia content, strengthen media and partner networks, and support advocacy and knowledge exchange at various levels. Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Communication and Reporting Analyst include:
Designing and implementing a communication strategy that aligns with UNDP standards, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all project components.
Producing high-quality communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, infographics, reports, case studies, photo essays, and videos.
Overseeing the design and production of communication outputs while adhering to UN editorial and branding guidelines.
Maintaining a digital library of media and knowledge products, tracking communication outputs and audience engagement.
Providing quarterly updates for project progress reports, highlighting communication milestones.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with media outlets and influencers to enhance project visibility.
Documenting project progress and translating technical findings into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
Organizing public events and workshops to showcase project achievements and support donor engagement.
Ensuring consistency in messaging across all communication channels and partners. 1
Collaborating closely with UNDP and government counterparts to align communication efforts and support resource mobilization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Communication, Journalism, Media Relations, Public Affairs, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned fields combined with an additional two years of relevant experience will be considered. Applicants with a Master’s degree are not required to have prior professional work experience, while those with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least two years of relevant experience in communication and reporting.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Communication, Journalism, or International Development. A Bachelor’s degree in these areas, combined with two years of relevant experience, is also acceptable. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively communicate and report on project activities.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in communication and reporting if they hold a Bachelor’s degree. Those with a Master’s degree are exempt from this requirement. Desired experience includes developing and implementing communication strategies for development projects, managing social media platforms, and engaging with stakeholders in government and donor processes. Experience in knowledge management and gender and social inclusion in communication is also highly valued.
Languages: Fluency in English and Nepali is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and audiences.
