Job Overview:
The position of the young and emerging evaluator (YEE) is integral to the final evaluation of the BERANI II Joint Programme, which aims to enhance sexual and reproductive health and rights for women and girls in Indonesia. The YEE will be involved in all phases of the evaluation process, including preparation, design, fieldwork, reporting, and dissemination. This role requires collaboration with the evaluation manager and team leader to develop evaluation methodologies, refine the theory of change, and finalize evaluation questions. The evaluator will also participate in data collection activities such as site visits, interviews, and group discussions, as well as support data analysis and the dissemination of evaluation results. The YEE will provide administrative support throughout the evaluation process and engage in meetings with various stakeholders, including the Evaluation manager and the PUNOS (Participating United Nations Organisations). This position offers a unique opportunity for a young professional to gain hands-on experience in evaluation within the context of international development, contributing to meaningful outcomes for women's health and rights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The young and emerging evaluator will be responsible for several key tasks throughout the evaluation process. These include:

• Finalizing the design report (inception report) and preparing a PowerPoint presentation for stakeholders.
• Submitting a preliminary PowerPoint presentation of the field phase for a debriefing meeting with the PUNOS and the Evaluation Reference Group (ERG).
• Drafting and submitting the final evaluation report, along with a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the evaluation results.
• Supporting the evaluation team in developing the evaluation methodology, including the evaluation matrix, data collection methods, and indicators.
• Participating in data collection activities, which may involve site visits, conducting interviews, facilitating group discussions, and reviewing relevant documents.
• Assisting in data analysis and interpretation, as agreed upon with the evaluation team leader and manager.
• Supporting the dissemination of evaluation findings and facilitating the use of results among stakeholders.
• Providing administrative support throughout the evaluation process, including scheduling meetings and maintaining communication with team members and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the young and emerging evaluator position should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in development studies, population studies, economics, monitoring and evaluation, social sciences, public health, or a related field.
• A certificate in evaluation or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Between 1 to 5 years of work experience in monitoring and evaluation, research, or social studies within the international development sector.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
• Proficiency in information and communication technology, as well as data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with the mandate and activities of the BERANI II programme or other United Nations organizations is advantageous.
• A keen interest in professional development and a desire to become a competent evaluator.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as development studies, population studies, economics, monitoring and evaluation, social sciences, or public health. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of international development and the evaluation processes involved in assessing programme effectiveness.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have between 1 to 5 years of relevant work experience in monitoring and evaluation, research, or social studies. This experience should ideally be within the context of international development, allowing the evaluator to understand the challenges and dynamics of working in this field. Candidates should demonstrate a capacity for analytical thinking and problem-solving, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Strong communication skills in English are essential for conducting interviews, facilitating discussions, and preparing reports and presentations. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly if they relate to the local context of the evaluation.
