Job Overview:
The Community Mobilizer for Legal Information and Awareness is a pivotal role within the DRC framework, designed to empower community members by equipping them with essential legal knowledge. This position is not intended for licensed lawyers but rather for individuals who can facilitate understanding and access to legal rights and resources within their communities. The mobilizer will engage in outreach activities, conduct information sessions, and raise awareness about legal rights and justice structures. The overarching goal is to enhance the social and economic well-being of community members by ensuring they are informed about their rights and how to access legal systems. The mobilizer will work closely with DRC's legal aid structure, receiving training and support from legal staff and other protection personnel, thereby ensuring a comprehensive approach to community legal education.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Community Mobilizer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: attending capacity-building training sessions as requested by DRC; conducting individual and group information sessions on tailored legal issues; raising awareness about community members' rights and the justice structures available to them; ensuring that legal awareness focuses on issues prioritized by DRC based on community consultations; referring cases requiring further legal assistance to DRC legal staff; disseminating updated service mapping and referral pathways; sharing protection concerns and identifying individuals facing risks; distributing DRC service leaflets; ensuring regular reporting of activities to relevant DRC staff; coordinating with the legal officer to plan weekly tasks; and establishing and maintaining good relationships with community members to facilitate outreach activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet several qualifications to be considered for the Community Mobilizer position. They should be at least 20 years old and possess a good reputation within their community. A university degree in law is preferred, although a bachelor's degree in a related field may also be acceptable. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Arabic is mandatory. Candidates should have strong social connections within the community and demonstrate a personal interest in working in the legal field. A good understanding of the local area and context is essential, along with a commitment to DRC's mission and adherence to its Code of Conduct.
