Job Overview:
The Good Governance and Anti-Corruption Specialist will oversee an anti-corruption project in Namibia, collaborating with the European Union to enhance governance and combat corruption. This role involves providing strategic direction and ensuring the successful implementation of the project in alignment with UN and EU objectives. The specialist will manage day-to-day operations, lead the project team, and ensure timely and budget-compliant execution of project goals. The position requires a deep understanding of governance issues, public financial management, and anti-corruption frameworks, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including government entities, civil society, and international partners. The specialist will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, preparing reports, and contributing to resource mobilization efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in governance, anti-corruption, and public financial management. They should demonstrate integrity and uphold the values and ethical standards of the UN. The ideal candidate will have experience in stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and project management. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Candidates should also have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective governance strategies and programs.
Educational Background:
A master's degree in public administration, political science, law, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in anti-corruption, governance, or public financial management will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of international governance frameworks and best practices.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in governance, anti-corruption, or public financial management is required. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or civil society organizations in Namibia or similar contexts is highly desirable. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the UNDP. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Namibia would be an advantage, as it would facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities.

This position is based in Windhoek, Namibia, and offers a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance of $3695.4

- Advising the Anti-Corruption Commission in Namibia on the design, review, and implementation of anti-corruption legislation and policies.
- Supporting the strengthening of national anti-corruption institutions through capacity-building initiatives.
- Engaging with stakeholders to develop and upgrade national anti-corruption strategies and programs.
- Monitoring and evaluating project progress and impact, and documenting lessons learned.
- Preparing high-quality progress and donor reports in a timely manner.
- Contributing to program development and resource mobilization by maintaining close contacts with donors and partners.
- Performing other work-related duties as required.

- The selected candidate will receive a one-time entry lump sum of $3500 at the start of the assignment, along with a family allowance for dependents. Medical insurance, life cover, and annual leave are also provided. The living conditions in Windhoek are favorable, with access to health services, international schools, and recreational facilities. The city is known for its safety, political stability, and pleasant climate.
