Job Overview:

The selected intern will engage in various tasks that involve data collection, integration, and validation of economic, fiscal, financial, and social databases. The role emphasizes the importance of contributing to the construction and updating of analytical matrices, time series, strategic indicators, and reports that facilitate the monitoring of structural trends, territorial gaps, and sectoral dynamics related to the SDGs. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for creating advanced visualizations such as graphs, pivot tables, dashboards, and executive presentations to aid in the interpretation of results for strategic reports and discussions with national counterparts. The position also includes supporting the systematization and preliminary analysis of information from official sources to develop inputs on financing for development, fiscal sustainability, public and private investment, and financing gaps of the SDGs. The intern will play a crucial role in updating data repositories, monitoring tools, and tracking panels linked to the Cooperation Framework and the UNCA process, while also performing other support functions related to economic analysis and data management as assigned based on the strategic priorities of the office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the collection, integration, cleaning, and validation of economic, fiscal, financial, and social databases.
• Contribute to the construction and updating of analytical matrices, time series, strategic indicators, and reports that allow for the monitoring of structural trends, territorial gaps, and sectoral dynamics linked to the SDGs.
• Develop advanced visualizations (graphs, pivot tables, dashboards, and executive presentations) that facilitate the interpretation of results for strategic reports and dialogue spaces with national counterparts.
• Assist in the systematization and preliminary analysis of information from official sources for the preparation of inputs on financing for development, fiscal sustainability, public and private investment, and financing gaps of the SDGs.
• Provide support in updating data repositories, monitoring tools, and tracking panels related to the Cooperation Framework and the UNCA process.
• Perform other support functions related to economic analysis and data management as assigned in line with the strategic priorities of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of an undergraduate university program (bachelor's degree or equivalent minimum). (b) be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). For this internship, studies in the field of economics or related disciplines are highly desirable. Applicants to the UN Internship Program do not need to have professional work experience. However, it is essential to have a field of study closely related to the type of internship being applied for. Applicants must be students in their final year of the first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent), or students in a master's or doctoral program or equivalent, or have completed a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree. Applicants must provide proof of their qualifications upon application and will need to submit an official certificate later. Knowledge in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and data analysis is required.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a background in economics or related fields. They must be enrolled in or have completed their undergraduate studies, or be pursuing or have completed a postgraduate degree. Languages:
Fluency in Spanish, both oral and written, is required for this internship. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations, and knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. The official languages of the UN Secretariat include Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages can enhance the intern's ability to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
