Job Overview:
The Administrative Officer will be responsible for delivering efficient and cost-effective administrative support services. This role involves providing guidance for the operations of administrative support services and managing administrative staff. The officer will ensure that the office's administrative operations comply with UNICEF's policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The position requires strategic leadership in implementing administrative policies and procedures, advising management on administrative planning, and optimizing processes to enhance operational efficiency. The officer will also support budget management, oversee administrative services, and collaborate with other agencies and partners on administrative matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Social Science, Administration, or a related field. A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in office management, administration, finance, accounting, ICT, or human resources is required. Experience in emergency duty stations is also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate strategic use of innovative digital tools and data analytics to monitor administrative KPIs and support operational efficiency.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in relevant fields such as Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Social Science, or Administration is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties effectively.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience. This experience should include both national and international work in areas such as office management, administration, finance, accounting, ICT, or human resources. Additionally, experience in emergency duty stations is highly valued, as it demonstrates the ability to work effectively in challenging environments.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration within the diverse UNICEF workforce.

- Manage property and inventory of administrative supplies, office equipment, and vehicles.
- Ensure compliance of all administrative transactions and contract arrangements with applicable policies and regulations.
- Collaborate on training activities to enhance performance in administrative services management.
- Coordinate with other agencies and local authorities on administrative matters, facilitating information exchange and harmonization.
