Job Overview:
The Logistics Associate will work under the direct supervision of the Supply and Logistics Specialist, playing a crucial role in ensuring the continuous provision of affordable and high-quality supplies and services. This position requires strict compliance with UNICEF’s policies and ethical standards. The Logistics Associate will be responsible for various logistics functions, including the clearance of incoming goods, in-country logistics, warehouse and inventory management, and reporting. The role is vital in supporting UNICEF's mission to provide essential supplies and services to children and communities in need, ensuring that logistics processes are efficient and effective.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clearance of Incoming Goods: Verify compliance of all necessary documentation with export and import regulations, issue letters of Authority (LoA) in a timely manner, monitor the clearance process, and ensure adherence to customs regulations.
• In-Country Logistics: Initiate requests for reliable freight forwarders, coordinate with carriers for timely delivery, track shipments, and confirm safe delivery of goods.
• Warehouse and Inventory Management: Accurately record all movements of goods, promote good warehouse practices, supervise receipt and dispatch of consignments, prepare stock reports, conduct physical inventory counts, and ensure compliance with FIFO and FEFO approaches.
• Reporting and Monitoring: Report logistics movements according to UNICEF guidelines, monitor contractor performance, and maintain monitoring tools for real-time tracking and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to supply chain, business administration, or contract/commercial law.
• Work Experience: A minimum of six years of relevant administrative experience in supply chain management or a commercial context is required.
• Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain processes, ability to interpret and apply regulations, proficiency in MS Office and SAP, and capacity to build effective working relationships.
• Ability to prioritize and plan work, coordinate with subordinates, and draft clear reports on supply-related decisions.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with additional technical or university courses in relevant fields such as supply chain management, business administration, or contract/commercial law being preferred. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of logistics and supply chain processes.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of six years of relevant administrative experience in supply chain management or a commercial context. This experience is crucial for understanding the logistics processes and ensuring compliance with UNICEF's policies and procedures.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration in diverse environments.
