Job Overview:
The Multimedia Communication Assistant will work under the supervision of the Communication Officer or their designated representative. The primary responsibilities include designing and producing high-quality visual content such as infographics, social media visuals, reports, presentations, and campaign materials aimed at promoting health awareness and policy communication. The assistant will also be responsible for the production and editing of short videos and multimedia products, including interviews and explainers, to enhance outreach on health systems, disease prevention, and immunization. Additionally, the role involves adapting content for various digital platforms to increase engagement and visibility, contributing to communication planning for campaigns and public health responses, and capturing professional photographs during events. The position requires a commitment to supporting WHO's communication objectives and enhancing the impact of health messaging at various levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and produce high-quality visual content, including infographics, social media visuals, reports, presentations, and campaign materials to support health promotion and policy communication.
  • Produce and edit short videos and multimedia products, such as interviews and explainers, ensuring the inclusion of subtitles to enhance outreach on health systems and disease prevention.
  • Adapt content for websites, social media platforms, and online campaigns to increase reach and engagement.
  • Contribute to communication planning for campaigns, observance days, and emergency public health responses, including rapid production of visual and messaging assets as needed.
  • Capture professional and high-quality photographs during events and missions.
  • Perform any other related duties as required to support WHO’s communication objectives and strengthen health messaging impact at country, regional, or global levels.
  • Work hours are from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a strong background in graphic design and multimedia production, with proficiency in design software and video editing tools. Candidates should possess creativity and adaptability, along with excellent planning and organizational skills. Professionalism and self-management are essential traits for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A degree in graphic design, multimedia communication, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in digital media or communication would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in graphic design, multimedia production, or a related field. Experience working in a health-related context or with international organizations is preferred but not mandatory.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of additional languages, particularly Russian or Kazakh, would be considered an asset.
