Job Overview:
As a Network Service Engineer - NaaS, you will be based in Mons and will play a crucial role in transforming NATO's IT services to support its Digital Endeavour. You will be part of the NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC), which is responsible for the full lifecycle management of IT services, including design, transition, and operations. Your role will involve performing fault diagnostics on NaaS infrastructure and services across NATO sites, utilizing various management platforms. You will also support project managers in implementing new projects and improving existing services, conduct site surveys, technical inspections, and system acceptance testing, and provide consultative support to customers by designing solutions that meet their specific needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will include performing diagnostics on WAN, LAN, VPN, and WIFI infrastructure and services across NATO sites. You will utilize management platforms such as CA Spectrum, HP NA, Netscout, Cisco Prime, DNA, Nokia NSP, and Splunk. Additionally, you will support program and project managers in the preparation and implementation of new projects, as well as the improvement of existing services. You will execute site surveys, conduct technical inspections, validate systems, and perform acceptance testing for NATO General Communication Services (NGCS) NaaS infrastructure. Furthermore, you will provide consultative support by setting up demonstrations, explaining features and benefits to customers, and configuring services to meet specific business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized or certified university in a related discipline, along with at least 2 years of post-related experience. Alternatively, if you do not possess a university degree, you may still be considered if you can demonstrate at least 6 years of extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post. Additionally, you must have at least 2 years of experience in deployment, maintenance, repair, modification, and operation of multivendor routing and switching environments, as well as experience with network automation and orchestration systems, and network monitoring and event management systems.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized or certified university in a relevant field is required. In exceptional cases, significant relevant experience may substitute for formal education. Candidates must demonstrate their abilities or experience that align with the needs of the NCI Agency.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in all aspects of deployment, maintenance, repair, modification, and operation of multivendor routing and switching environments. This includes experience with configuration and operation of network automation systems and network monitoring systems. Experience working in a centrally managed network environment is also essential.
Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

The position offers a 3-year contract with a competitive tax-free salary, household and children's allowances, and privileges for expatriate staff, including expatriation and education allowances.
