Job Overview:
The 3D Integration Engineer position is situated within CERN's 3D Integration Office, which is part of the EN-ACE group. This role is pivotal in coordinating integration activities for the third Long Shutdown (LS3) of the CERN accelerator complex, a significant program that aims to enhance the capabilities of the facility. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team of designers, manage complex 3D integration studies, and drive improvements in data quality processes. This position requires collaboration with various technical experts and stakeholders, ensuring the successful integration of advanced systems in a highly international and dynamic environment. The role emphasizes the importance of effective communication, technical documentation, and the use of advanced engineering tools to support project monitoring and decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the 3D Integration Engineer include coordinating and monitoring 3D integration studies that support the LS3 of the CERN accelerator complex. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during on-site installation and maintenance activities to identify and resolve integration issues. They will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining technical documentation, updating project information in internal IT platforms such as Track It and EDMS, and developing dashboards to facilitate project monitoring. Additionally, the engineer will create, update, and maintain 3D models using CATIA V5 to ensure the accuracy and reliability of integration data. They will contribute to improving the quality of CAD data within the PDM/PLM environment and support robust 3D integration validation workflows. The engineer will help develop and standardize 3D integration processes and methodologies across the Integration Office, verify mechanical and magnetic references in collaboration with the Layout and Configuration Management team, and support the organization and reporting of Integration Committee meetings. Furthermore, they will coordinate laser scanning activities with survey and scheduling teams, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and the preparation of access authorizations. The engineer will also develop and maintain collaborative web workspaces to centralize information and facilitate knowledge sharing within the Integration Office and with project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in mechanical, industrial, systems, or integration engineering. They should have experience in organizing and managing technical data using digital engineering or information management tools. The ability to prepare clear technical documentation and present engineering information in a structured manner is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate skills in coordinating technical activities involving multiple stakeholders and managing priorities effectively. Experience working with PDM/PLM environments or engineering data management systems is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field. Candidates must have graduated within the last two years and should not have held a CERN fellow or graduate contract previously. Applicants without a university degree are not eligible, and those with a PhD are also not eligible for this position.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in engineering or a related field. This experience should be relevant to the responsibilities outlined in the job description, particularly in areas related to 3D integration and engineering processes.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to learning French, as it is beneficial for communication within the organization and with local stakeholders.
