Job Overview:

• This position is part of a small team within ATLAS Technical Coordination, where you will be responsible for liaising with various detector teams, contributing to equipment logistics, and supporting occupational safety on-site. Your work will be vital in ensuring a smooth installation process for detectors, which involves managing waste, organizing equipment transport, and promoting safety awareness among team members. You will also be involved in monitoring ongoing site activities and ensuring the availability of safety equipment, which is essential for maintaining a safe working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Facility and Safety Support Technician include managing waste at the ATLAS facility by supporting equipment removal and waste sorting, ensuring timely availability of skip containers, and providing equipment owners with necessary packaging materials. You will also support transport and logistics to and from CERN, organize temporary storage for various consolidation projects, and monitor ongoing site activities to promote safety awareness. This includes conducting safety tours, reporting observations, and implementing corrective actions. Additionally, you will ensure the availability and inspection of safety equipment, participate in its maintenance, perform shifts in the ATLAS control room, carry out scaffolding inspections in the experimental area, and provide versatile technical support to both the ATLAS Safety team and the ATLAS Infrastructure team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a technical certificate or general secondary education, or equivalent relevant experience in the fields of Electromechanics, Logistics, Safety, or a related area. Relevant experience in facility management and logistics is essential, along with proven hands-on experience with on-site technical activities and a track record in occupational safety. Initial experience in the maintenance and assembly of electromechanical systems is also required. A strong motivation to contribute to the operation of the ATLAS facility is crucial, as is the ability to operate and maintain electromechanical equipment and systems, manage waste, and conduct safety conformity assessments. Proficiency in using office software packages is necessary, and knowledge of personal protective equipment would be advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a technical certificate or general secondary education in a relevant field such as Electromechanics, Logistics, or Safety. Candidates with equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
