Job Overview:
As the Head of the Vice-President Office at the EIB, you will be tasked with leading the office team and fostering a collaborative environment among colleagues across various Management Committee offices and Directorates. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the Vice-President receives balanced and effective advice in governance matters. You will be responsible for the strategic support of the Vice-President's institutional and operational responsibilities, ensuring the office operates efficiently and effectively. This position requires a proactive approach to managing relationships with high-level stakeholders and maintaining a network of contacts that can facilitate the EIB's objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will include planning, organizing, and supervising the activities of the VP office to ensure successful implementation of tasks. You will lead the office staff by setting objectives, reviewing performance, and providing ongoing feedback. Additionally, you will develop operational processes to support the team's goals and ensure that the necessary skills and knowledge are available for daily operations. You will also advise the Vice-President on various institutional and strategic matters, prepare documentation for meetings, and conduct research on relevant issues. Engaging with external stakeholders and representing the EIB at meetings and events will also be part of your responsibilities, along with analyzing documentation related to the Management Committee and Board of Directors' agendas.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree equivalent to at least a Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, social sciences, law, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required, preferably in government, EU institutions, or international financial organizations. Proven experience in managing and coaching teams is essential, along with a strong understanding of the European Institutions' procedures and the EIB's mission and operations. Familiarity with public sector procedures and participation in international financial institutions will be advantageous. Proficiency in office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree, ideally in finance, economics, social sciences, law, or a related discipline. This foundational education is crucial for understanding the complex financial and operational frameworks within which the EIB operates.

Experience:
The role demands at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally gained in government, EU institutions, or similar organizations. Experience in managing teams and coaching individuals is critical, as is a demonstrated understanding of the EIB's mission and the political landscape in which it operates.

Languages:
Excellent command of English and German, both written and spoken, is mandatory. A good command of other EU languages is considered an advantage, although proficiency in French is not explicitly required for hire. However, as both English and French are official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both is necessary for future career development within the organization.
