Job Overview: The Investment Analyst position within the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (MAS) sector team at IFC involves working closely with Investment Officers responsible for the origination, structuring, negotiation, and supervision of investment projects in the Consumer Services and Manufacturing sectors. The role is critical in identifying new projects and assisting Investment Officers in executing transactions and monitoring portfolios. Investment Analysts are expected to fully understand the financial aspects of investment or advisory transactions, conduct market analysis, and assess the financial soundness of company or project opportunities. They will engage in market and industry research, demonstrating attention to detail and diligence in their work. The position requires the ability to analyze debt pricing benchmarks and equity trading comparables, as well as understanding the broader economic, market, and social development impacts of investments. Analysts will also support business development efforts by mapping companies and stakeholders, distilling large amounts of information into business documents and presentations, and utilizing graphics and tables to present data effectively. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Investment Analyst include:
Fully understanding the financial aspects of investment or advisory transactions, including conducting market analysis and determining the financial soundness of company or project opportunities.
Demonstrating skills in financial statement analysis, accounting, finance, financial modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF), and comparable company analysis to support informed decision-making.
Conducting thorough market and industry research and analysis.
Paying attention to detail and performing thoughtful scenario analysis while ensuring high-quality work.
Analyzing and synthesizing debt pricing benchmarks and equity trading comparables.
Understanding how investments or advisory transactions impact economic, market, and social development, and using mapping methodology to assess market conditions and business opportunities.
Identifying data collection needs to support assessments of financial, operational, development impact, and market information, as well as relevant environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters.
Coordinating with clients to obtain necessary information.
