Job Overview:
The 2026 National Youth Summit in Malawi is a pivotal event aimed at connecting young people with opportunities in employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation. To ensure that the summit's message reaches every corner of the country and beyond, NYCOM is launching a nationwide digital awareness campaign. This campaign will build on the content created by creative teams and aims to recruit a large team of passionate online volunteers to amplify these messages. As a Digital Awareness Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in promoting awareness by sharing ready-made campaign materials on your personal social media platforms. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a major national event, gain experience in digital advocacy, and help empower Malawian youth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Digital Awareness Ambassador, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Sharing campaign materials on your personal social media platforms to promote the National Youth Summit.
• Engaging with your social media followers to raise awareness about the summit and its objectives.
• Collaborating with other online volunteers to create a cohesive and impactful digital presence for the campaign.
• Providing feedback on the campaign materials and suggesting improvements based on your audience's response.
• Participating in virtual meetings and training sessions organized by NYCOM to enhance your advocacy skills and knowledge about the summit.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Digital Awareness Ambassador position should possess the following qualifications:

• A strong passion for youth empowerment and development.
• Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey campaign messages.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse audiences.
• A proactive attitude towards sharing information and promoting initiatives that benefit young people.

Educational Background:
While there are no specific educational requirements for this volunteer position, candidates with backgrounds in communications, marketing, social sciences, or related fields will find their skills particularly relevant. A strong understanding of digital media and advocacy strategies will be beneficial.

Experience:
Previous experience in digital marketing, social media management, or volunteer work related to youth initiatives is an advantage but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the campaign.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all campaign materials will be in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Malawi is a plus, as it will help in reaching a broader audience.

This is a volunteer position with no financial compensation. The role is part-time and flexible, allowing volunteers to contribute according to their availability. The campaign will run until the National Youth Summit in 2026, and volunteers may have the opportunity to receive certificates of participation and references upon successful completion of their duties.
