Job Overview:
The Data Coordinator position is integral to the Air Section's operations within NATO. The role involves supporting a wide range of administrative and organizational tasks, particularly in relation to the Aviation Committee and airworthiness responsibilities. The incumbent will be tasked with maintaining and refining an airworthiness database, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date. This position requires a proactive approach to managing information and supporting the section's activities, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of NATO's airworthiness initiatives. The Data Coordinator will also play a crucial role in knowledge management, project management, and expertise development, responding to inquiries related to airworthiness data and implementing processes that align with NATO's airworthiness policy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Knowledge Management: Maintaining relevant information for various tasks and projects, assisting with administrative and organizational work for the Aviation Committee and its substructures.
  • Expertise Development: Responding to questions related to airworthiness data and records, implementing and validating airworthiness data, and establishing dashboards to support the section's work.
  • Project Management: Contributing to the development and implementation of processes for the recognition and oversight of airworthiness authorities of NATO Nations and Partners, in line with NATO airworthiness policy.
  • General Duties: Performing any other related duties as assigned by the Section Head, maintaining close working relationships with other staff across the Directorate, NATO Divisions, national delegations, and international organizations as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a higher secondary education qualification with at least 6 years of post-related experience, or an upper vocational training/post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years of administrative or organizational work experience. In-depth knowledge of office management and IT systems, particularly the Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint, is essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in NATO's official languages, achieving at least a V (Advanced) level in one language and I (Beginner) in the other. Experience in managing systems engineering processes and in the aviation industry is considered advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a higher secondary education qualification or an upper vocational training/post-secondary degree in a relevant field. This educational foundation should be complemented by practical experience in administrative or organizational roles, particularly within the defense or aviation sectors.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically 6 years of post-related experience for candidates with a higher secondary education qualification, or 3 years for those with a relevant post-secondary degree. Experience in administrative or organizational work is crucial, with a preference for candidates who have worked in environments related to defense or aviation.

Languages:
Proficiency in NATO's official languages is mandatory. Candidates must have a minimum of V (Advanced) level in one language and I (Beginner) level in the other. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication within the organization and with international partners.

Additional Notes:
The successful applicant will be offered a definite duration contract of three years, with the possibility of an indefinite duration contract thereafter. If the candidate is seconded from a national administration of a NATO member state, a similar contract will be offered, subject to national authority agreement. The position may require travel and working outside normal office hours.
