Job Overview:
The Inventory Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the logistics and supply chain operations of CRS. This position is focused on maintaining the integrity of inventory management processes, ensuring that goods received from donors are stored, handled, and dispatched according to established standards and regulations. The Inventory Assistant will be responsible for keeping accurate records of inventory, managing the receipt and dispatch of goods, and ensuring compliance with both CRS and donor requirements. This role is essential for the effective delivery of high-quality programming aimed at assisting the poor and vulnerable populations served by CRS. The Inventory Assistant will also be involved in regular inspections of warehousing facilities to ensure they are maintained in good condition, thus supporting the overall mission of CRS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Inventory Assistant will have a variety of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: maintaining an up-to-date entry register and inventory records; preparing necessary documentation for receiving, issuing, returning, and disposing of assets; conducting regular inspections and cleaning of warehousing/storage facilities; assisting with the preparation of facilities for goods receipt and dispatch; managing the loading and offloading of goods; preparing records for damaged, lost, or disposed assets; coordinating property movement and management of fixed assets; processing requests from staff for available assets; and maintaining records of disposed assets for review. The role requires a proactive approach to inventory management and a commitment to ethical conduct in all activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a University Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) and have at least 2 years of work experience in a similar position. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse and inventory practices, as well as proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Good communication skills and the ability to manage relationships effectively are essential. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented mindset, along with ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional standards.

Educational Background:
The position requires a minimum educational qualification of a University Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND). This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of inventory management and logistics operations within the humanitarian context.

Experience:
The Inventory Assistant should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in inventory management or a similar role. This experience is crucial for understanding the operational requirements and challenges associated with warehouse maintenance and goods handling in a humanitarian setting.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders, including donors and government officials.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Benue State, Nigeria, and may require travel of up to 10%. The role does not have supervisory responsibilities but involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
