Job Overview: The position of Cyber Security Infrastructure Specialist is crucial for NATO's cyber defense mission, based in Mons, Belgium. The role involves joining the NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which serves as the technical expertise hub for cyber security within NATO. The NCSC is responsible for protecting NATO's communications and information systems through comprehensive, round-the-clock services. Duties and Responsibilities: The Cyber Security Infrastructure Specialists will have a range of responsibilities, including:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cyber security infrastructure to support NATO's mission-critical systems.
Identifying security vulnerabilities and developing practical strategies and secure configurations to mitigate risks.
Monitoring, assessing, and analyzing security systems to detect, investigate, and respond to suspected attacks and security breaches.
Providing technical advice and guidance on security solutions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and risk assessments.
Translating stakeholder requirements into effective technical solutions and system diagrams.
Contributing to risk assessments, risk treatment plans, and accreditation activities.
Supporting solution architecture activities in cryptography and collaborating with various teams for service improvement.
Engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and resolve conflicts between user requirements.
Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and cyber security trends to enhance NATO's resilience against threats.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized or certified university in a related discipline. For the mid-level role, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required, while the senior role requires at least 3 years. Alternatively, candidates without a degree may qualify if they can demonstrate significant relevant experience—6 years for the mid-level and 10 years for the senior role. Additionally, candidates should have practical experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining security infrastructure, identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, and extensive expertise in network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Proven ability to deliver security capabilities in various sectors, along with a strong track record in stakeholder engagement and IT security consulting, is essential.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution is required. This educational background should ideally be complemented by certifications or additional training in cyber security or related disciplines, which would enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.
