Job Overview: The Associate Communications Officer position is integral to the OSCE's communication strategy, focusing primarily on digital communications. The role involves providing comprehensive communication support, advice, and products to key stakeholders within the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with other communications professionals and departments to enhance the visibility and recognition of the OSCE. Responsibilities include maintaining the OSCE public website, guiding internal contributors, and developing communication products that align with the organization's priorities. The position requires a proactive approach to managing digital content and ensuring effective communication across various channels.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Communications Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
Maintaining the content and structure of the OSCE public website using the content management system, ensuring it is up-to-date and meets organizational needs.
Guiding and supporting a network of internal website contributors, providing troubleshooting, training, and coaching as necessary.
Collaborating with OSCE Secretariat programs and departments to create and deliver communication products that align with organizational priorities.
Coordinating with communications teams from OSCE Institutions and Field Operations to ensure streamlined and professional communication.
Developing and distributing texts, visuals, and stories across various communication channels.
Participating in a duty roster and performing other duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a second-level university degree in journalism, communications, multimedia, political science, international affairs, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience will also be accepted. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in communications, including social media and website management, is required. Experience in an international organization or as a journalist is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate political judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to present the organization's activities convincingly to external audiences.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a second-level university degree in a relevant field such as journalism, communications, multimedia, political science, or international affairs. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant experience will be accepted. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of communication within an international organization.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in communications, which may include social media, multimedia, and website management. Candidates with a first-level university degree must have at least four years of relevant experience. Experience in an international organization, non-governmental organization, or as a journalist is highly desirable, particularly in writing, editing, and producing communication materials.
Languages: Professional fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of another OSCE official language is considered desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively within the organization and with external audiences.
