Job Overview:
The Senior Operations Assistant position is crucial for the Bhutan Resident Mission (BHRM) within the South Asia Department (SARD) of ADB. The role involves providing high-quality administrative, analytical, and coordination support for BHRM operations. This includes managing official communications, mission administration, and stakeholder liaison, particularly with government entities and executing agencies. The Senior Operations Assistant will be responsible for ensuring efficient project processing and implementation by maintaining accurate records, monitoring correspondence, and coordinating with various stakeholders. The position requires a proactive approach to support the Bhutan country management team and facilitate effective communication and operational follow-ups with headquarters and external partners. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Operations Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: preparing and transmitting official letters and communications to the Ministry of Finance and relevant Executing Agencies; maintaining accurate records of outgoing and incoming correspondence; supporting coordination with government authorities on official communications; monitoring nominations and confirmations for workshops and training; preparing mission clearances and collaborating with government agencies for necessary approvals; maintaining a mission tracking system; collaborating with various partners to support project operations; responding to routine inquiries; assisting with technical assistance processing; preparing briefing papers and presentation materials for senior management; supporting high-level visits and events; and improving internal tracking systems related to government communications. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned by the management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Senior Operations Assistant position must possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, business, public administration, finance, or related fields. They should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating a strong command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, is essential. The ideal candidate will have proven abilities in data collection and organization, as well as the capacity to prepare notes, papers, and sections of reports. Establishing and maintaining productive contacts with government officials, donors, executing agencies, NGOs, and the private sector is crucial. Knowledge of operations and procedures in multilateral development banks is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, business, public administration, finance, or related disciplines. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of the role and effectively contributing to the operations of the Bhutan Resident Mission.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Languages:

This appointment is open to both internal and external applicants, but it is specifically a local staff position, meaning it is only available to nationals and permanent residents of Bhutan. The role is a fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal, initially for a period of up to 3 years or until the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes first. After the initial term, ADB may choose to renew the appointment based on various factors, including the staff's performance and the ongoing needs of the organization.
