Job Overview: The position of Responsable de Programme EHA encompasses both the technical aspect of installing potable water supplies in precarious living conditions and providing technical support to partner institutions. The individual in this role is responsible for ensuring that operational sites have access to potable water in adequate quantity and quality throughout the year. Since March 2020, SI has been active in France to address issues of water, hygiene, and sanitation precariousness across five French territories. The projects aim to assist populations living in degraded sites such as slums or squats, who have limited access to basic services, including drinking water, sanitation, and essential hygiene products. SI's strategy involves supporting local actors in their search for concrete solutions by improving sanitary conditions at sites, including the installation of potable water supplies and sanitation infrastructure, as well as developing pilot projects tailored to the context of each intervention area.
Duties and Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the Responsable de Programme EHA include frequent fieldwork involving plumbing interventions, regular travel between Angers and Nantes across numerous sites, and preparing for a partnership with a pipeline company for water access in precarious living sites in 202
The first two to three months will prioritize site visits, contributing to data analysis, and communicating with institutional partners. The role also involves proposing collaborative work strategies with community mobilization colleagues, ensuring that operational sites benefit from adequate access to potable water, and managing project follow-up and evaluation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bac+3 or Bac+5 in Water Management or Water Engineering. Experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with 0-2 years of relevant experience and 3-4 years in a similar position. Technical skills in manual work, including plumbing, project management, data management, and evaluation are essential. Knowledge of social associations, French water regulations for human consumption, and public procurement processes are also required.
Educational Background: A minimum educational background of Bac+3 or Bac+5 in Water Management or Water Engineering is necessary for this position. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the technical and regulatory aspects of water supply and sanitation.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 0-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, along with 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
